CORPORATE & STRATEGIE

What does the Sustainability Board stand for?

Sustainability is an integral part of the corporate strategy of Symrise. The members of the global and cross-business Sustainability Board ensure the integration of the sustainability principles into the core processes of the Group.

The Sustainability Board of Symrise has ten members. Bernhard Kott is the Chairman. As Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), he assembles Management representatives several times per year. Together they ensure the consideration of topics relevant to sustainability and interests of key stakeholders along the entire value chain. The committee sets sustainability objectives, which are then directly implemented in the respective divisions. The Executive Board and the Sustainability Board have appointed sustainability officers in all segments as well one representative each for the staff departments of Human Resources, Finance/Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. Direct responsibility for strategy lies with Dr. Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, Chief Executive Officer of Symrise AG. He receives regular updates regarding the progress of all sustainability activities.
